Passionate About Inspiring Others

How I became a therapist is deeply rooted in a life of meaning-making, and self-expression. Being raised to cherish the arts, I initially pursued my dream of becoming a musicologist – with the hope of utilizing my passion for teaching and sharing knowledge to enrich the minds of others and their communities. Towards the end of my college years, the development of fibromyalgia presented a unique opportunity for me to re-examine what it means to be of service to others, and ultimately, find new purpose in life. I understand what it’s like to grapple with change you didn’t ask for, and somehow rediscover yourself again. For more than a decade now, my life’s work has and continues to be dedicated towards helping those in need find their voice, and break through the barriers to live more authentic and meaningful lives.

How I Work

I have always believed in the power of an authentic relationship with another person. Throughout the highs and lows in daily life, knowing there is genuine support in your corner gives one a sense of reassurance that we are not only seen, but cared for. Our therapeutic relationship is aimed to mirror that, centering around trust between two people, and your willingness to take risks as we navigate your experiences in a supportive setting.

As a therapist, I am attentive towards the whole self, not just the summation of your thoughts and feelings. We don’t often recognize that our actions and beliefs about life and living are deeply embedded into the fundamentals of being human. Lack of satisfaction in the quality of a person’s life tends to stem from the disconnect between what we value, how we think about ourselves and others, and our decision-making. Consequently, we feel bored in life, regretful, stuck or overwhelmed with choice and independence, and can even experience hopelessness and depression about the lack of meaning and purpose in our life. Therapy can be a helpful place to develop a greater understanding over what blocks you from living a more fulfilling, and enriched life. Through our intimate work together, a deeper connection to who you are and what is important to you become the guiding tools in helping you find relief from your pain, and building greater satisfaction and engagement in life.
